Paleolithic rock art belongs to the most remote artistic manifestations of Humanity. Executed by groups of hunters and gatherers who had to face the climatic hardness during the last of the Quaternary glaciations. His pictorial representations are usually located inside deep caves, where darkness accentuates his magical and enigmatic sense. It is frequent the representation of animal species already disappeared, such as horses, reindeer or cave bears, among others. There are also esoteric symbols, negative hands, alignments of points and different lines, which makes interpretation very difficult.
Cave of the Fuente del Trucho
In the Cannyon of  Arpan, a tributary of the Vero River, is the only Aragonese station with Palaeolithic rock paintings. It is a shallow cave, with an east facing mouth 25 m wide and 18 m long. The cave was used as a temporary habitat. It contains paintings of the Upper Paleolithic (around 22,000 BC) in black and red, cave engravings and remains of habitat settlement. Its excavation has allowed the recovery of instruments carved in flint and quartzite, as well as the remains of animals such as horses. A heating hearth with few parallels in the Iberian Peninsula has also been located. Since at present it is not possible to penetrate it, in the Rock Art Center of Colungo there is a reproduction of its interior
