We first became known for rock climbing and canyoning, and we\u2019re a paradise for cyclists, but it has to be said that most of our visitors come here to walk and enjoy our paths and trails.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">With its stunning landscapes, gorges, caves and natural areas, Guara is the ideal destination if you\u2019re looking to enjoy endless outdoor adventures. In this article, I\u2019ll introduce you to some of the best routes offering panoramic views in the Sierra y los Ca\u00f1ones de Guara Natural Park. <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/guara.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/albalmunias_Rando-acuatica-paisaje-rio-chica-senderismo.jpg\" alt=\"albalmunias_Water-trekking-landscape-river-girl-hiking\" class=\"wp-image-15885 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/guara.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/albalmunias_Rando-acuatica-paisaje-rio-chica-senderismo.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/guara.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/albalmunias_Rando-acuatica-paisaje-rio-chica-senderismo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/guara.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/albalmunias_Rando-acuatica-paisaje-rio-chica-senderismo-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">The best viewpoints in the Sierra de Guara<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>The great thing about some of the viewpoints I recommend in this article is that you can choose to go on a hiking route where these exceptional viewpoints take centre stage, or simply head straight to the most spectacular spot. The fact is, most of these places are easily accessible and very convenient to reach. Although, if you have the choice, I\u2019d recommend exploring everything Guara has to offer in the immediate vicinity of the most popular spots.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salto de Rold\u00e1n, one of the great viewpoints of Guara<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Salto de Rold\u00e1n viewpoint is one of the most popular viewpoints in the Sierra y los Ca\u00f1ones de Guara Natural Park. It is situated at the top of the Salto de Rold\u00e1n, at an altitude of around 1,000 metres.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From this spot steeped in history and legend, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Isuela River valley and the village of Santa Eulalia de la Pe\u00f1a, known locally as Santolarieta.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Salto de Rold\u00e1n is a pair of conglomerate rock formations rising above the Isuela river valley. The San Miguel rock, located on the western side, forms the Salto de Rold\u00e1n viewpoint. Access to the viewpoint is restricted to vehicles, but is permitted for people with disabilities.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The viewpoint is an ideal spot for hiking enthusiasts, as there are several hiking trails that start from there. As well as the short walk to the Salto de Rold\u00e1n viewpoint, we can highlight others such as the route to the Dolmen de Belsu\u00e9 or, indeed, this one which, starting from the Salto de Rold\u00e1n car park, takes you along a short path and, after scaling a vertical rock face with the aid of metal pegs, up to the highest point of the Pe\u00f1a de San Miguel.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s the link, but just a heads-up: if you\u2019re not sure about your fitness level, the views from the car park itself are also stunning.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-left is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-b192c3d7 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-align-center wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/guara.org\/sendero\/salto-de-roldan-pena-de-san-miguel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Further information<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vadiello Viewpoint and the views of the reservoir<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we continue eastwards through the Sierra y los Ca\u00f1ones de Guara Natural Park, we will eventually reach the Vadiello Viewpoint. In that case, I recommend taking a look at the tour that will show you the very best of this area in the heart of the Sierra y los Ca\u00f1ones de Guara Natural Park. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A walk through the Vero River Gorge<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I suggest you take the route through the Vero River Canyon: this is a walk through the Vero River Cultural Park, combining unspoilt nature with schematic-style rock art. The route follows well-maintained paths, footbridges and bridges, and takes you to places such as the Lecina Spring, the Lecina Mill, the Chapel of San Mart\u00edn de la Choca and the rock-shelter art at Tozal de Mallata.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The route takes approximately 4 hours to complete and is of low to medium difficulty; it is suitable all year round, except when there is snow.<br\/>Highlights of the Vero River Canyon: The Vero River Canyon is one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Sierra de Guara, featuring rock formations, ravines, forests and rivers. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also home to a unique cultural heritage, with over 60 rock-shelter sites featuring cave paintings that have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cave art in the canyon dates from the Palaeolithic period to the Iron Age and depicts scenes of animals, human figures, signs and symbols. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make the most of the walk through the Vero River Gorge, I recommend wearing suitable clothing and footwear, and bringing water and food.
