This year, we\u2019ve decided that as well as walking, you should try Nordic walking or cycling through the Bguara region<\/span>Bguara<\/b><\/a> along the trails of the Sierra de Guara, and give running a go, which is why we have joined the <\/span>Guara Somontano Trail Experience <\/b>project to promote our destination internationally, allowing you to enjoy trail running routes all year round.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Train for trail running in the Sierra de Guara all year round<\/h2>\n\n

What\u2019s more, as the trail running season approaches, the Sierra de Guara is a fantastic place to come and train all year round, whether for the famous UltraTrailGuara Somontano<\/a> or the Integral Tozal de Guara<\/a> among others.<\/p>\n\n

A trail route between Somontano and Sobrarbe<\/h2>\n\n

The route that we are telling you about today is one of the pros for long and challenging, as it starts from Alqu\u00e9zar, covering 38.2 km. venturing into the lands of Sobrarbe to finish once again in the beautiful town of Somontano. Similar to the <\/span>Gran Vuelta del Vero on mountain bikes<\/b><\/a> but in the opposite direction.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

It is a long but very scenic route; as you can see from the photos, the surroundings are stunning, featuring two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the <\/span>Vero River Cultural Park<\/b> and the <\/span>Sobrarbe Pyrenees Geopark<\/b>, which will inspire you with every step you take. Bear in mind, however, that there is no water available along the entire upper section of the route, so this should be taken into account, particularly during the summer months.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Full itinerary of the trail running route<\/h2>\n\n

This route, which lies between the regions of Somontano and Sobrarbe, starts, as mentioned, in Alqu\u00e9zar; it then descends to the bridge at Villacantal to take the rocky path that climbs up the Trucho ravine. After passing the Mirador del Vero viewpoint, you cross the river again to climb up to the beautiful village of Lecina, where the path runs between the walls leading to Betorz begins. <\/span><\/p>\n\n

From there, it\u2019s almost 15 km along the mountain ridge to Mes\u00f3n de Sevil, offering superb panoramic views of the Pyrenees. The trail ends with the descent to Alqu\u00e9zar (a listed historic site and Spain\u2019s most beautiful village) via the stony Basacol path. <\/span><\/p>\n\n
