Barranco de la Pillera

This trail offers a superb view of the landscape on the north face of the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park.

From the stone bridge in the village of Nocito, the trail begins by following the village’s main street until you reach the signposted turn-off on the right, which joins a section of the Hoya de Huesca Nature Trail; from there, simply follow the signposts.

This first section runs between traditional stone walls and lush riverside vegetation. After about 900 metres, you reach a bridge crossing the river, and the route continues for a few metres along the forest track towards Vadiello.

Some signposts located at a slight widening of the path indicate that our route continues along the path on the left, which crosses the river once more and leads into the La Pillera ravine.

The path winds its way up the ravine, crossing from one bank to the other on more than ten occasions (there are no bridges on this stretch, so take extra care depending on the water level), until it reaches the wide Estañonero pool, into which the Abellada ravine flows. Circling the pool to the right, the path continues and, after about 200 metres, you reach the entrance to the Brazo de Mar; continuing for a further 500 metres, you reach the Fuendeguaril spring, where the route ends.

The return journey follows the same route.
