Circular Bara - Bibán - Binueste

This route invites visitors to step back in time and, for a few hours, imagine themselves in the shoes of the former inhabitants of the villages of Bibán and Binueste (uninhabited since 1960), for whom this path was the only means of access to obtain the raw materials that the local environment could not provide, and to reach the neighbouring village of Bara, which is still inhabited all year round.

At the church in Bara, take the path leading to the River Alcanadre, which starts by following the river’s right bank upstream. The path passes by the old Bara mill and continues until it reaches a crossroads where you have two options: one is to take the path on the left leading to Binueste, and the other – which is more advisable due to its gentler incline – is to continue straight ahead along the path towards Bibán.

After about 700 m, you cross the river and continue following its course along the left bank, gradually moving away from it as you approach the ruins of the village of Bibán. The path continues uphill towards La Pardineta, an ancient building of which the remains of a defensive tower still stand, but first you must cross the Alcanadre river once more. From here, the path reaches a pass leading to the village of Binueste and, once you have crossed it, the descent back to Bara begins, this time crossing the Binueste ravine and stopping at the spot known as ‘La Predicadera’, where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the northern part of the Sierra de Guara.

Continuing downhill, you come to the crossroads again; this time, head towards Bara, where the route ends.
