Vía ferrata Rodellar

Description
The Rodellar climbing area offers over 400 routes across 35 sectors facing in all directions. All sectors are easily accessible on foot from Rodellar. Most of the sectors are located in the Mascún river gorge, which features lovely pools for swimming, often right at the foot of the routes.
Rock
The rock is limestone. Rodellar is best known for its large overhangs and steep walls with long drips. Most of the routes are long, athletic and spectacular. There are also many small caves and overhangs offering short, explosive climbing, as well as vertical walls with technical routes of up to 40 metres and more. There are also bouldering spots, particularly the small caves, although if you’re not interested in rope climbing, there are better places to go.
Difficulty
Most of the climbing consists of routes graded 7th and 8th, up to 9a+, interspersed with a few 6b and 6c routes and some easier routes.
Best time of year
The best time of year for climbing in Rodellar is spring and autumn, but it’s also great for climbing in summer and winter. In summer, temperatures are quite high, so it’s best to stick to shaded sections. In winter, the rock faces can be wet, although there are also plenty of routes that never get wet.
How to get there
The climbing areas are already visible from Rodellar. To reach them, follow the signs to the Mascún river gorge. To climb at El Camino, walk to the right along a path that runs above the gorge.
