Tozal de Guara is the highest peak in the mountain range and also in the Huesca Pre-Pyrenees.
The route we suggest combines the ascent of Tozal with that of the neighbouring peak, Fragineto, which is lower in height but equally spectacular with its sharp, distinctive silhouette.
The route begins at La Tejería, which can be reached from Aguas via the road to the Calcón reservoir and then along a track in good condition for 3 km. After passing the La Fabana chapel, you reach the gorges, where the water flow in the ravine can be high during the rainy season.
From there, the ascent to Fragineto is very steep over rocky terrain, as is the subsequent climb to Tozal, where you can enjoy incredible panoramic views. After passing through the Petreñales pass, the route descends along the path known as Revientachulos.
