Description
The Balced Gorge is one of the main gorges in the Sierra de Guara, nestled between the Balced and Sevil mountain ranges.
This circular trail takes you deep into the ravine’s slopes before climbing up to Castillo de los Santos, perched on a spectacular rocky outcrop.
The route begins on flat ground and descends along a track until it joins the Camino Natural del Somontano.
After this warm-up, the trails begin, the first of which is a steep descent towards the River Balced, crossing several ravines, notably the rocky and narrow Cautiecho ravine.
Near Tranco de las Olas, you leave the Camino Natural to take a very steep path that climbs up to Castillo de los Santos.
After passing Mesón de Sevil, all that remains is to descend along the track back to the starting point.
