Here are the details of the upcoming event at CALMA, co-created with Lydia from @aquilium, whose attention to detail and our shared sense of what we consider ‘beautiful’ really won me over.
Together, we designed a botanical watercolour workshop, the challenge of which was to paint using entirely biodegradable materials.
So we set to work to find ingredients from our kitchen and vegetable garden that would allow us to play with colour whilst continuing to look after the environment we hold so dear – free from toxins and waste.
And that’s how the event we’d like to invite you to came about:
Workshop on BOTANICAL WATERCOLOUR using NATURAL PIGMENTS.
We’ll learn about the magic of colour and how to extract pigments from certain foods, and Lydia will use her art to show us, in a simple way, how to illustrate BOTANY on cotton paper.
We want to showcase the wonderful creative potential that lies within each and every one of us.
As I always say: We are perfectly imperfect, and that’s what makes us unique.
Previous experience is not required.
