The old flour mill in the village of El Grado has been restored and now houses the tourist information office.
This mill is an interesting example of cultural heritage of an ethnographic and industrial archaeological nature. It is a fine example of the early 20th century, when mills began to incorporate new technologies and, as in this case, combined traditional milling with the generation of electricity, transforming themselves into small power stations.
On the ground floor, in the machine room of machinery, we find information about the machinery, identification of the territory: The Grado and the Comarca of Somontano and aspects related to life on the riverbank: hunting and fishing traditional, the river Cinca and the dam at El Grado.
The second floor is dedicated to Parcheesi and features a collection of all materials relating to the World Parcheesi Championship held in El Grado, as well as an exhibition of game boards.
In the building –as well as providing tourist information –both about a8> our town as well as from the rest of the region – you can visit the hall of original machines which allows you allows you to understand in a very visual way how a watermill hydraulic of the mill flour mill and in addition the exhibitions:
The area around the mill is designed for you to enjoy with your family, whether strolling along the ‘Path of Trades and Traditions’, using the picnic area under the pergola, or following one of the circular walks that start from here.
We also have a small service area for motorhomes.
The mill is the starting point for three easy walking routes.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am to 2pm, Fridays and Saturdays also from 4pm to 7pm, and on long weekends from 10am to 2pm.
